On July 28-29, an anonymous Facebook page, created under the name of a POSTV journalist, as well as anti-opposition Facebook accounts (1, 2, 3), published a scene from a pornographic movie, noting that the new US ambassador to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan, is a former porn star. The post also notes the following: “Before us, she served in Argentina as an ambassador and was expelled after she tried to seduce Lionel Messi.” Part of the Facebook accounts disseminated the mentioned information based on the screenshot of the post published on behalf of the founder of the “Conservative Movement”, Konstantine Morgoshia. Nonetheless, no similar posts are found on Morgoshia’s official Facebook page.

Additionally, another Georgian-language Facebook account posted a video of a female dancer who visually resembles Robin Dunnigan. The author of the post claims that the video depicts Kelly Degnan’s replacement.

The claim that the new US ambassador to Georgia, Robin L. Dunnigan, is a former porn star, who served as the US ambassador to Argentina, from where she was expelled, is disinformation. The photo accompanying the false content is taken from a pornographic film featuring porn stars Johnny Sins and Kendra Lust. As for the video in which Dunnigan appears to be dancing – the video is altered, as the authentic version shows a Portuguese model performing a dance.

The information that Robin Dunnigan is a former porn star and that she was kicked out of Argentina is disinformation. Dunnigan has not served as US ambassador to Argentina. She has served in the US embassies in Austria, Vietnam, Chile, Turkey, Cuba, and El Salvador, although she was never the US ambassador to any of the countries listed above.

As for the photo, which was published along with this information, it is, in fact, cut from a pornographic video and shows porn stars – Johnny Sins and Kendra Lust.

As for the video, which the author of the post claims depicts Robin Dunnigan dancing, it is, in fact, altered using computer software. The original video was posted by a Portuguese model on TikTok. In the altered version, the face of the model is replaced with that of Robin Dunnigan.

Robin Dunnigan was officially approved by the US Senate as the new ambassador of the United States of America to Georgia on July 28. This fact was followed by the emergence of visual manipulations directed against her.

Slut-shaming

Gendered disinformation is often used as a political tool by various accounts on social networks. “Myth Detector” revealed several cases of slut-shaming of politicians in 2023. One of them, originating from the Russian media, was directed against the German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock:

After the President of Georgia pardoned Nika Gvaramia, the founder and former General Director of the opposition “Mtavari Channel,” slut-shaming, accompanied by sexist comments, was also used against Salome Zourabichvili. For more details, see:
