kobakhidze kaladze False Quotes Attributed to Kakha Kaladze and Irakli Kobakhidze Circulate on Social Network

The quotes attributed to Kakha Kaladze and Irakli Kobakhidze are doing the rounds on the social network. In fact, they did not make such statements.

The quotes circulating on the social network, which are attributed to Kakha Kaladze and Irakli Kobakhidze, are falsified. In reality, no open source confirms that the representatives of the Georgian Dream have made such statements.

The authenticity of Irakli Kobakhidze’s statement on the restoration of pioneer camps is not confirmed by Georgian critical media websites (1;2;3); nor can a comment of similar content be found on the official Facebook page of the government administration.

Open sources also do not confirm the statement attributed to Kakha Kaladze, in which he calls German Chancellor Olaf Scholz a “UNM supporter.” On April 12, the day when Kakha Kaladze’s false quote was published, Olaf Scholz and Irakli Kobakhidze made statements after their meeting. A journalist for the Imedi TV company asked Scholz about the so-called draft law on agents. Answering the question, the German Chancellor expressed hope that the Georgian Parliament would not pass the said law. According to him, there is no such legislation in the EU. Presumably, it was the statement that was followed by the distribution of a fake quote attributed to Kakha Kaladze on the social network.

Before that, on April 10, Kaladze called “UNM supporter” Roin Kochorashvili, father of national football team player Giorgi Kochorashvili. The footballer posted a photo on Instagram showing an underage member of his family participating in a protest march against the so-called law on agents, which took place on April 9.
