On September 20, 2023, a Georgian-language Facebook account published a post in which, based on a Polish publication, he writes that the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, canceled the meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Also, according to the user, the President of Brazil, Luiz Silva, and the President of the USA, Joe Biden, refused to meet with the President of Ukraine on September 19 due to alleged health problems. According to the post, Zelenskyy is “already avoided by everyone like a rabid dog.”

The claims that the presidents of Brazil and the US canceled the meeting with Zelenskyy are disinformation. The meeting between Luiz Silva and the leader of Ukraine took place on September 20, while the meeting between Biden and Zelenskyy was not canceled and is scheduled for the end of the week at the White House. In addition, Zelenskyy has already held meetings with the leaders of a number of countries and organizations. As for Duda, the meeting with him has indeed been canceled at this stage, although the Polish president noted that the meeting might be held later.

The meeting between Duda and Zelenskyy, which was scheduled for September 19, 2023, in New York, was indeed canceled, the reason for which the Polish president cited changes in the work schedule. However, he noted that the meeting might take place in the next few days.

Despite the disseminated claim, the meeting between the presidents of Brazil and Ukraine was not canceled, and it took place on September 20. Luiz Silva spoke with Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the current war in Ukraine and ways to achieve peace. They also expressed their desire to strengthen bilateral relations. Also, Silva stated that Brazil condemns the violation of the territorial integrity of states and is ready to talk to both sides involved in the war. It should be noted that the scheduled meeting between the leaders of Brazil and Ukraine did not take place at the G7 summit on May 21, and the Brazilian president stated that he was dissatisfied with the result as he wanted to discuss important topics with Zelenskyy.

According to international media (1,2,3), Zelenskyy and his wife will depart New York for Washington, where they will be hosted by the US President and the First Lady at the White House. A specific date has not been named so far, nor has an announcement been made about the cancellation of the meeting.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited New York within the framework of the 78th summit of the UN General Assembly. In his speech on September 19, he once again emphasized the dangers of Russian aggression for Ukraine and the whole world. On September 19-20, Zelenskyy held a number of meetings with world leaders, among whom were Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; German Chancellor Olaf Scholz; Charles Michel, President of the European Council; UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutierrez; Presidents of Kenya and South Africa; President of the European Commission, President of Romania and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria; President of Chile and the Prime Minister of Albania.
