On November 2, 2023, the fake Facebook account “Daat Tsabadze” published a post about the deployment of the Ukrainian landing party near Sochi in the Facebook group “Servant of the Georgian People.” According to the published post, the “Saakashvili regiment” of the special operation forces of the Ukrainian army made a landing near the outskirts of Sochi. According to the fake account, the marines are engaged in a fierce battle with the retreating occupiers.

The disseminated information is false. The claim that the “Saakashvili regiment” made a landing near the outskirts of Sochi is not found in any reliable source, and the photo is from 2017.

The disseminated information about the deployment of a landing party in the outskirts of Sochi is false and was spread by a fake Facebook account; however, in the Facebook group where the mentioned information was spread, the members perceived it as real information. The “Mikhail Saakashvili Regiment”, which is part of the Ukrainian army, does not exist, and the photo attached to the post, which allegedly shows the landing party, was taken in 2017.
