On October 11, lawyer Irakli Zakareishvili published a video in which it sounds as if the CNN reporter involved in the bombing is being dictated how to behave – what to say, how to look as if he is scared, how to breathe, etc. “Look around as if you are in danger, try to look scared.” – a voice is heard in the video. According to Zakareishvili, the video is proof that the footage of the bombing was staged in order to shape public opinion in favor of CNN and the US.

On October 9, CNN reported that their Chief International Correspondent, Clarissa Ward, was on air with a camera crew near the border of the Gaza Strip when the shelling began. Ward, the operator, and another person took cover in a ditch on the side of the road. In the video, an extended version of which was later shared on CNN’s YouTube channel, there is no voice telling the journalist how to act. A portion of the live video that aired, but was cut from the video later released by CNN, can be found on social media.
The video, which shows the CNN camera crew and the voiceover, was published by the YouTube channel The Quartering. The channel’s description states that it publishes information on a variety of topics, including comics and video games. On October 11, after the video went viral, the YouTube channel confirmed on X (former Twitter) that the audio accompanying the footage was fake.
The video fabrication was verified by Reuters and Snopes – as a CNN official told Reuters, the audio is fake.
