On January 16, Georgian-speaking Facebook users (1,2,3) disseminated the information that two employees of the Commissariat of Ukraine came to the door to a citizen to deliver a summons, and the citizen shot one of them after opening the door. The information is being shared along with a 2-second video, in which two people are seen standing at the door of the apartment, and after opening the door, the doorman is seen holding a gun, which he aims at one of the people standing at the door, and he falls down. The logo of the National Police of Ukraine is shown in the lower right corner of the video.

Based on the video, on January 16-17, Russian propaganda media (1,2,3), including Комсомолская Правда and Аргументы и Факты, reported that an employee of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (ТЦК) was killed in Ukraine. According to Russian media, the video was posted on social networks by the National Police of Ukraine. The video was also distributed by Russian-language Facebook accounts (1,2).

The claims that an employee of the commissariat of Ukraine was killed while handing over a conscription card to a citizen are false. The National Police of Ukraine responded to the video, denied the information, and pointed out the inconsistencies found in the video.

On January 16, the same day the video was released, the National Police of Ukraine responded to it on Facebook and published a statement. The agency notes that the employees of the criminal analysis unit were involved in the verification of the video. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the video contains signs of forgery. According to the statement of the National Police of Ukraine, the published fragment of the video does not show the characteristic signs inherent of a firearm shot. It is also noted that one of the persons depicted in the video wears a reflective vest, while the employees of the ТЦК wear military uniforms while performing their duties. In addition, the inscriptions on the vest are unclear and probably in a foreign language. The statement also mentions that the logo on the video does not correspond to the official logo of the National Police of Ukraine, which the agency uses in its videos.
