On June 16, a Facebook user Dato Saluknadze published a post on Facebook together with a screenshot of comments, in which another Facebook user, Marina Anchabadze, claims that a 27-year-old man died in Mukhrani, Georgia after getting a vaccine. Several other Facebook accounts shared the same screenshot on June 17: Shore Shanidze, an anti-vaxxer shared it in a group called ვაქცინით დაზარალებულები! (Affected by the vaccine) with a caption “Another victim!”; another Facebook account სამყარო სამყარო (World World) also shared the post. It is impossible to determine the identity of the deceased or the time of the incident. The comment on the screenshot does not specify which vaccine is concerned either.

Myth Detector found the comment, in which another Facebook user mentions the name of the deceased and claims that he is a 27-year-old Jemal Meitol from Mukhrani. The comment was made on June 16 and mentions that this person died a day earlier, on June 15.

The widespread information about the death of the 27-year-old in Mukhrani lacks evidence. National Center for Disease Control & Public Health of Georgia (NCDC) denied the death of such individual on June 15.

Myth Detector contacted the NCDC. According to the comment made by a spokesperson of the Center, their database does not include the death of such individual. Therefore, the claim that connects the death to the vaccination is not true.

Disinformation about citizens of Georgia dying after getting vaccinated has been disseminated earlier as well. Read the articles published by Myth Detector on this issue:
