On April 29, the anonymous Facebook page, “Tseliani Zauri,” spread a screenshot that purported to be a post by journalist Eka Kvesitadze. In the photo taken at the protest demonstration, Eka Kvesitadze is shown together with Lasha Bughadze, Shota Utiashvili, Baia Pataraia, Irakli Kadagidze, Khatia Dekanoidze, and others. The circulated screenshot shows Kvesitadze as if writing in the caption to the photo: “waiting for the crackdown with f*cked men.”

The screenshot circulated on the social network is fake. Eka Kvesitadze posted the photo, but with a completely different caption.

Eka Kvesitadze, journalist for the Mtavari TV company, posted the photo taken at the demonstration against the so-called law on agents on the night of April 29 with the following caption: “waiting for the crackdown.”

The photo that circulated on the social network is an example of slut-shaming. Slut-shaming is a form of sexist hate speech aimed at insulting women on moral grounds. This type of gender disinformation is often used as a political tool by various social network accounts. Recently, Eka Kvesitadze became the target of yet another piece of gender disinformation. A photo circulated on social media showing the journalist with a fabricated banner. The Myth Detector checked the authenticity of the circulating photo as well as other photos from protest rallies:
