On October 21, lawyer Irakli Zakareishvili published a photo allegedly depicting Benjamin Netanyahu’s son, Yair Netanyahu. According to the author, the photo was taken at a pool in Miami during the Israel-Hamas War of 2023. Also, a photo of Netanyahu and his other son, Avner Netanyahu, has been circulating on social media (1;2) with the description that the Prime Minister of Israel personally escorted him to the army.

The photos were also distributed by Russian-language Facebook accounts (1;2;3).

Photomanipulations are being disseminated about the children of the Prime Minister of Israel. Yair Netanyahu’s photo was taken at a pool in Tel Aviv in 2015, and Avner Netanyahu’s photo was taken in 2014 when he was conscripted into the army.

The information that the disseminated photo shows Yair Netanyahu relaxing at a pool in Miami during the Israel-Hamas war is false. In fact, the photo dates back to 2015 and the article, which shows the paparazzi photos is still available on local entertainment website Pplus.

As for the photo of Benjamin Netanyahu’s youngest son, Avner Netanyahu, the photo was not actually taken in 2023, but in 2014, when he began his mandatory military service. A photo showing parents escorting their son to the army was published by local media The Times of Israel on December 1, 2014.

The published photo was also verified by foreign fact-checking organizations (1;2;3).

Currently, there are no confirmed reports in the reliable Jewish media that any of Benjamin Netanyahu’s children are on the front line fighting against Hamas.

In Israel, men called up for mandatory military service must serve at least 32 months, and women at least 23. Both sons of Benjamin Netanyahu have served in the mandatory military service.
