On August 20th<\/sup>, the Facebook user Doctors Charlz, who is known for regularly publishing anti-vaxx content, shared a post<\/a> claiming that the world has double standards when it comes to vaccination. Doctors Charlz claimed that for the staff of organisations such as the FDA (U.S. Food and Drugs Administration), CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), World Health Organisation, Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson&Johnson and the State Duma of the Russian Federation, vaccination is not mandatory.<\/p>\n

The disseminated information is partly false since out of the eight mentioned organisations, six require their personnel to get the COVID-19 vaccine, while only two (WHO and the Russian Duma) have a voluntary vaccination policy.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On July 29th<\/sup>, U.S. President<\/a> Joe Biden announced that due to the epidemiological situation worsened by the new Delta variant, public servants are requested to confirm their fully vaccinated status. People who have received only one dose of the vaccine would still be the subjects of physical distancing and twice-a-week testing and must wear a face mask.<\/p>\n

Vaccination is mandatory in other governmental bodies and agencies, including the U.S. Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).<\/p>\n

As for the vaccine manufacturers, vaccination is mandatory for the employees of Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson&Johnson.<\/p>\n

According to the official statement<\/a> found on the Moderna website, the employee has to receive full immunity before October 1st, 2021. Requests for medical or religious exemptions will be considered on an individual basis.<\/p>\n

CNBC<\/a> and WFAA<\/a> have contacted Pfizer and J&J, who have confirmed that both companies require COVID-19 vaccination for all workers in the United States. The companies may also grant permissions for medical or religious exemptions, while unvaccinated employees have to go through weekly testing.<\/p>\n

The World Health Organization unites workers<\/a> from 149 different countries. The organisation has yet to implemen<\/a>t a mandatory vaccination policy.<\/p>\n

The decree on compulsory vaccination in Russia was signed<\/a> on June 15th<\/sup>, 2021. Compulsory vaccination applies only to the Moscow region<\/a> and concerns civil servants and service workers, meaning that vaccination is mandatory for people employed in public transportation, education, health, cultural and entertainment events, beauty salons and other service providers. Compulsory vaccination also applies to the Moscow City Hall; nonetheless, the document does not mention the State Duma of the Russian Federation. It should be noted that upon request, employers in the spheres mentioned above are required to have 60% of their employees vaccinated. The spokesman for the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, said that there are no talks concerning the introduction of compulsory vaccination across the country.<\/p>\n

As of June, one-third<\/a> of the Russian Duma members were fully vaccinated<\/p>\n
