On April 23, 2021, Mamuka Karchkhadze<\/a> published a photo on his Facebook page with the following description: \u201eItalians in line for a shot\u201c. The photo, illustrating black people standing in line without the masks at close range, is not accompanied by additional description and it is impossible to establish the location or identify the persons depicted in the photo based on available information.<\/p>\n

The information as if the spread photo depicts Italians standing in line for vaccination, is not true. In fact, the photo is from 2015 and it depicts migrants.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Using the Reverse Image Search search tool, the photo first showed up in the article of April 15, 2015 by Euronews<\/a>, while on April 16, in the German edition Spiegel<\/a>. These search results are displayed by the Bing search engine through the image search tool.<\/p>\n

The photo depicts the events of 2015, when refugees from Libya tried to cross the Italian border. According to the International Organization for Migration, more than five hundred migrants died in early 2015, while trying to enter Italy.<\/p>\n

Based on Spiegel, a description on the photo of April 15, 2015 indicates that 480 refugees arrived in Palermo by boat.<\/p>\n

Mamuka Karchkhadze is active in disseminating anti-Western, conspiracy messages and opposes vaccination and mask wearing. Some posts of the said person were marked by Facebook as false<\/a> information.<\/p>\n
