In a lengthy post, the author writes about toxic vaccine ingredients and its side effects, claiming that vaccines are harmful to human health and life. Speaking about various ingredients, the author does not specify which particular vaccines contain them.<\/p>\n<p>The post contains several claims about various vaccine ingredients:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Formaldehyde causes intoxication, kidney failure, death and cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Thimerosal causes autism.<\/li>\n<li>Aluminium causes Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.<\/li>\n<li>Polysorbate 80 and Octoxynol 10 cause infertility.<\/li>\n<li>SV40 (simian) virus that is found in monkeys and causes cancer is used in vaccines.<\/li>\n<li>Aborted fetal cells are used in vaccines.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As of February 1, the post has 304 shares.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mythdetector.ge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/fgb20n.png\" alt=\";\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"da2e4f40-3de3-4ec3-a2c3-3fc9f6ec01b3\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c0392b;\"><strong>Facebook page Rana provides false claims about vaccines allegedly being harmful to human health.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The key ingredient in <a href=\"https:\/\/vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk\/vk\/vaccine-ingredients\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">all vaccines<\/a> is one or more active ingredients. Apart from this, the main ingredient in vaccines is water. Most injected vaccines contain 0.5 milliliters of liquid. All other ingredients weigh a few milligrams (thousandths of a gram) or even less.<\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that many of the substances used in vaccines are found naturally in the body. Furthermore, all vaccine ingredients are present in very small quantities, and there is no evidence that they cause harm in these amounts.<\/p>\n<p>The website of Oxford Vaccine Group\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk\/vk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Vaccine Knowledge Project<\/a> provides constantly updated information about vaccines and their ingredients.<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li role=\"presentation\"><span style=\"color: #e74c3c;\"><strong>Formaldehyde and aluminium are used in vaccines in extremely small amounts; they are not harmful to human health and do not cause cancer or Alzheimer&#8217;s disease<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c0392b;\"><strong>Formaldehyde. <\/strong><\/span>The post names formaldehyde as one of the vaccine ingredients. The author claims that formaldehyde causes intoxication, acute stomach pain, kidney failure, as well as coma and death. The same post notes that formaldehyde also causes cancer.<\/p>\n<p>According to Vaccine Knowledge Project, <a href=\"https:\/\/vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk\/vk\/vaccine-ingredients#Formaldehyde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">formaldehyde<\/a> is used in the production of some vaccines to inactivate toxins from bacteria and viruses (for example, poliovirus, Hepatitis B antigen, and diphtheria and tetanus toxins). But due to its small amounts, it is not harmful to human health.<\/p>\n<p>Formaldehyde is an organic compound found naturally in many living things. For example, the human body produces and uses formaldehyde as part of the process of metabolism. It is noteworthy that amount of natural formaldehyde in a 2-month-old infant\u2019s blood (around 1.1 milligrams in total) is ten times greater than the amount found in any vaccine (less than 0.1 milligrams).<br \/>\nIn addition, formaldehyde is commonly used as an industrial fungicide, germicide, and disinfectant. That formaldehyde exposure can cause cancer in humans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.gov\/about-cancer\/causes-prevention\/risk\/substances\/formaldehyde\/formaldehyde-fact-sheet#can-formaldehyde-cause-cancer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">has long been <\/a>a matter of dispute. However, according to most recent research, low doses of formaldehyde are not likely <a href=\"https:\/\/sph.unc.edu\/sph-news\/low-doses-of-formaldehyde-not-likely-to-produce-cancer-causing-dna-adducts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">to increase risk<\/a> of cancer in humans.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c0392b;\"><strong>Aluminium.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span>The post claims that aluminium is a toxic substance, stressing that it was found in the brains of people who died from Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.<\/p>\n<p>Many vaccines (i.e. Hepatitis B, tetanus, polio, papilloma, etc.) contain <a href=\"https:\/\/vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk\/vk\/vaccine-ingredients#Aluminium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">aluminium salts<\/a> such as aluminium hydroxide, aluminium phosphate or potassium aluminium sulphate.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk\/vk\/vaccine-ingredients#Aluminium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Vaccine Knowledge Project<\/a>, aluminium salts appear to slow down the release of the active ingredient from the vaccine once it is injected, and stimulate the immune system to respond to the vaccine. The amount of aluminium present in vaccines is small &#8211; less than 2 milligrams of the salts, and less than a milligram of actual aluminium.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that babies are born with aluminium already present in their bodies, probably from the mother\u2019s blood. Over time, small amounts of the aluminium from food, drink and other sources do accumulate in the body, but this is not believed to pose a significant risk to health.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of experts agree that there is not a strong <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alzheimers.org.uk\/about-dementia\/risk-factors-and-prevention\/metals-and-dementia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">argument<\/a> to prove that aluminium causes Alzheimer\u2019s disease. Aluminium and other metals can be found even in healthy brains.<\/p>\n<p>A cross-sectional study conducted in 2018 measured blood and hair aluminum levels in infants. The study found no correlation between aluminium and number of vaccines received by them.<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li role=\"presentation\"><span style=\"color: #e74c3c;\"><strong>Many studies have found no correlation between thimerosal and autism<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The author of the post claims that thimerosal increases the level of mercury in human brain and that the correlation between mercury poisoning and autism has been confirmed. It is disinformation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk\/vk\/vaccine-ingredients#Thiomersal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Thimerosal<\/a> is a mercury-based preservative used in tiny quantities in some vaccines (for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/hcp\/conversations\/downloads\/vacsafe-thimerosal-color-office.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">flu vaccine<\/a>) to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi which can contaminate from the environment when the vaccine is opened.<\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that thimerosal was removed from UK vaccines between 2003 and 2005. Later, it was removed from the United States and other European countries as a precaution in line with the global goal of reducing environmental exposure to mercury from all sources. However, there was no evidence that thimerosal in vaccines caused harm. Findings of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0264410X14006367?via%3Dihub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">study<\/a> conducted in Australia in 2014 suggest that the components of the vaccines (thimerosal or mercury) are not associated with the development of autism or autism spectrum disorder. Over one million children were analyzed during the study.<\/p>\n<p>It is a false claim that ethyl mercury (C2H5Hg+) accumulates in human body. The <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/18245396\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">study<\/a> conducted in 2008 showed that ethyl mercury from thimerosal in vaccines in infants is substantially shorter than that of oral methyl mercury in adults. The blood mercury half-life was calculated to be 3.7 days and returned to pre-vaccination levels by day 30.<\/p>\n<p>The World Health Organization (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/biologicals\/areas\/vaccines\/thiomersal\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">WHO<\/a>) and the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medical Products (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ema.europa.eu\/en\/documents\/scientific-guideline\/emea-public-statement-thiomersal-vaccines-human-use-recent-evidence-supports-safety-thiomersal_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">EMEA<\/a>) stated that there is no evidence that thimerosal in vaccines caused harm.<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li role=\"presentation\"><span style=\"color: #e74c3c;\"><strong>Polysorbate 80 and Octoxynol 10, when added to vaccines in small amounts, do not cause infertility<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to the post, Polysorbate 80 and Octoxynol 10 cause infertility.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Both substances are mainly used in the flu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/pubs\/pinkbook\/downloads\/appendices\/b\/excipient-table-2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">vaccine<\/a>. Polysorbate 80 is an inactive substance that helps the vaccine to be stabilized. Octoxynol-10 is a compound that is used in some flu vaccines to help further inactivate and then disrupt the inactivated influenza virus used in the vaccines. Both are used in small amounts, they are safe and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/uk-factcheck-vaccine-idUSKBN27C33W\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">do not cause<\/a> infertility.<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li role=\"presentation\"><span style=\"color: #e74c3c;\"><strong>From 1955 to 1963, vaccines were contaminated with simian virus; however, it did not cause cancer. No vaccines used today contain SV40 (simian) virus.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The post claims that vaccines are frequently contaminated with foreign microorganisms and SV40 (simian) virus is one of such viruses promoting cancer development.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccinesafety\/concerns\/concerns-history.html#:~:text=From%201955%20to%201963%2C%20an,polio%20vaccines%20at%20that%20time\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">CDC<\/a>), from 1955 to 1963, an estimated 10-30% of polio vaccines administered in the U.S. were contaminated with simian virus 40 (SV40). The virus came from monkey kidney cell cultures used to make polio vaccines at that time. After the contamination was discovered, the U.S. government established testing requirements to verify that all new lots of polio vaccines were free of SV40.<\/p>\n<p>Most studies looking at the relationship between SV40 and cancers are reassuring, finding no causal association between receipt of SV40-contaminated polio vaccine and development of cancer.<\/p>\n<p>No vaccines used today contain SV40 (simian) virus.<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li role=\"presentation\"><span style=\"color: #e74c3c;\"><strong>Aborted fetal cells are used in vaccines. These cells originally came from tissue obtained from two fetuses that were legally and electively aborted in the early 1960s. The vaccines, however, do not contain these cells or pieces of DNA that are recognizable as human DNA.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Several common vaccines <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verywellhealth.com\/do-vaccines-contain-aborted-fetal-tissue-260337\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">are made<\/a> by growing the necessary viruses in fetal embryo fibroblast cells. These cells originally came from tissue obtained from two fetuses that were legally and electively aborted in the early 1960s. The same cells have continued to grow in a laboratory and are still used to make vaccines today.
