The World Congress of Families is an American organization that organizes conventions promoting traditional family life and anti-LGBT values in different countries across the globe. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, an American Legal Consulting Organization, the World Congress of Families was involved in developing anti-gay laws adopted in Russia in 2013. On May 17, 2015, Levan Vasadze, a Georgian businessman who made his fortune in Russia, invited the World Congress of Families in Tbilisi, with this event marked by a number of homophobic and anti-Western statements.
