Konstantine Morgoshia, who is closely associated with Levan Vasadze’s radical-extremist grouping and the Alt-Info, registered a new organization, Alternative for Georgia, in 2019; in addition to Morgoshia, co-founders of this organization are presenters of Alt-Info, Shota Martinenko and a Russian citizen Giorgi Kardava, also, Irakli Kizilashvili who is registered at Martinenko’s living address.
During the events of July 5th, 2021, when the members of the counter-demonstration against “Tbilisi Pride” physically and verbally harassed 53 journalists and barged into the organizers’ offices, Morgoshia personally led the attack on the office of the social movement “Sirtskhvilia.”
Konstantine Morgoshia previously was a member of the pro-Russian Alliance of Patriots party. He was a candidate of the Alliance of Patriots in Mtskheta single-mandate constituency in the 2016 parliamentary elections. He is among those persons who make donations to the Georgian March. During the May 11-13, 2018 developments, Morgoshia, together with Georgian March, was one of the organizers of counter demonstrations. In that period, ultranationalist and pro-Russian groups united their forces under the umbrella of Georgian March and formed the so called Agreement of National Forces. Dimitri Lortkipanidze, former member of Nino Burjanadze’s United Democratic Movement and presently head of the Tbilisi-based Primakov Center, also joined the Agreement.
According to Ifact, Konstantine Morgoshia is the co-owner, manager and founder of several companies. (“Grande Group Georgia Ltd,“ “N(N)LP Kavkasioni,” “N(N)LP Alternative for Georgia,” “Kem Construction Ltd,” and “Magnus Design Ltd.” Morgoshia himself claimed to the Ifact that he is the “case manager” and collaborates with 5-6 different companies, where his partners are the Georgian businessmen living in the CIS and foreign partners affiliated with them. According to Ifact’s investigation, due to the Government’s decision, Morgoshia and another person linked with him have received a state property for a symbolic price of 1 GEL.
