Last week the volume of disinformation cases about the coronavirus in Russian media outlets levelled off and became more critical. Besides the claims that “the virus is a US biological weapon that has been deployed against China and intentionally spread on Trump’s orders” numerous pro-Kremlin outlets – Москва 24, Sputnik Georgia and ukraina.ru also reported that the famous actor Jackie Chan had contracted the virus at a private party and is presently under quarantine.
On his official Facebook page Jackie Chan announced that he is healthy and hadn’t been in quarantine.
The search for coronavirus in Hollywood continued as disinformation outlets tried to connect the 2011 movie “Contagion” to coronavirus, which tells the story of a fictional pandemic that killed 26 million people in a single month. According to Russia Today this film is proof that the coronavirus was invented by American and is targeted at America’s enemies.
