On April 4, an information agency Marshallpress published a news article titled “The perpetrator of the attack on Youtube headquarters killed by police”. The material mentions that, according to the law enforcement officers, CNN was disseminating information that the perpetrator of the attack on Youtube HQ was killed, whereas four people were wounded on the scene.

"

The title of the article misleads the reader, as Nasim Aghdam, who attacked the Youtube HQ in San Bruno, California on April 3, was not killed by police. She died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The article regarding the given case, published by CNN on April 4 mentions that, according to the Chief of San Bruno Police, Ed Barberini, the perpetrator committed suicide.

Real fact

Nasim Aghdam, 39, entered the Youtube headquarters in the suburban San Francisco on April 3, where she opened fire and wounded three people. According to the representatives of the local police, Nasim Aghdam committed suicide after this. Law enforcement officers arrived on the scene several minutes after the 911 was called. At that point, Nasim Aghdam was already dead. An investigation has been initiated on the given incident.

"

According to the Guargian, the representatives of San Bruno Police Department are unaware of the reason behind the attack. As Nasim Aghdam’s father, Ismail Aghdam said, she was angry at Youtube for age-restricting the videos uploaded by her.
