On March 22, Imedinews posted a news story on its website titled “Research: Christianity Quits Europe,” according to which Europe’s March and post-Christian Society released a research reflecting European youth attitudes towards religion. Imedinews refers to The Guardian as its source."

The material released by Imedinews is misleading, because Europe’s March and post-Christian Society do not exist. The Guardian’s article names Stephen Bullivant, a professor of theology and the sociology of religion at St Mary’s University in London, as the author of the report Europe’s Young Adults and Religion. Imedinews, however, does not mention his name at all.

The Guardian’s article begins with the following words: “Europe’s march towards a post-Christian society has been starkly illustrated by research showing a majority of young people in a dozen countries do not follow a religion.“ Imedinews portrays “Europe’s March” and “post-Christian Society” mentioned in The Guardian’s article as the authors of the research that misleads the readers.
