On September 11-12, Facebook pages such as “Enemies of the Country,” “Politics,” as well as David Tordia, a supporter of the ruling party “Georgian Dream,” disseminated a claim that the coalition “Unity – National Movement” had presented an electoral list. Allegedly, this list included Megis Kardava, Bacho Akhalaia, Nika Narsia, Lex-Seni, Badri Shubladze, TikTok influencer “Prince 69,” Lasha Bugadze, Gia Khukhashvili, Vano Merabishvili, and others. All these Facebook pages and accounts claimed that the “United National Movement” had announced its top 20 candidates.

The claim that the coalition “Unity – National Movement” presented an electoral list including Vano Merabishvili, Bacho Akhalaia, Megis Kardava, Lasha Bugadze, and others is false. The party has not yet submitted any electoral list.

On July 8, the parties “United National Movement” and “Strategy Agmashenebeli” formed a political platform, which has since been joined by other parties, politicians, and individuals. The leader of the coalition, Tina Bokuchava, has previously spoken about a common electoral list, and it is expected that the coalition will present a unified list for the elections.

As of now, the “Unity – National Movement” has not presented any electoral list. This information has not been published in the media or on the coalition’s social networks. The last event organized by the party, titled “Yes to Europe!” took place on September 11. During this event, the coalition leaders addressed voters and presented five priorities if elected. The party’s public relations office denied the circulated information in a conversation with “Myth Detector,” explaining that they have not yet presented an electoral list.

On September 10, the ruling party “Georgian Dream” presented its top 20 candidates for the election. The list includes both long-standing party members and athletes such as weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze and wrestler Geno Petriashvili. The first candidate on the list is the party’s founder and honorary chairman, Bidzina Ivanishvili.

In the pre-election period, the dissemination of false or manipulative information on social networks has increased. The main targets of such false accusations are opposition politicians and political parties, although disinformation has also been spread against the ruling party. “Myth Detector” systematically verifies such suspicious claims.
