Zerkalo Nedeli faked the words of the Georgian PM. Giorgi Kvirikashvili did not say during the discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos that Georgia does not need NATO. According to him, Georgia is not protected from NATO, however, it has partnership and good relations with the West, which is a formula for stability in the region for Georgia.

Faked version by ZN.UA PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili’s answer in the discussion: “Strategic outlook: Eurasia”
“The stability that we have today, that is our Article 5. We do not need NATO. Economic and Political relations with all neighbors and players should become our security guarantee. We strive for integration with the EU and the West, we want to establish good relations with Russia and other parties – he stated (Giorgi Kvirikashvili).” “What is stability for Georgia?! Stability for Georgia is positioning the country where we are. It is about values and for Georgia, we set the European integration and the Euro-Atlantic integration as the strategic priority. Step-by-step, we are transforming our country into a truly European democracy, a country which is unique in terms of openness, its trade, its free-trade regimes with the European Union and China (simultaneously), with all the neighbor countries, including Russia. And, of course, its internal structural reforms, deep structural reforms, which make Georgia a truly democratic state. This is our Article 5. We do not have NATO protection, but partnership with the West and good neighborly relations and constant search for zones of common interest is the formula for stability in our region.”

On January 23, during the discussion “Strategic outlook: Eurasia” held at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the PM of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili spoke about the European integration, as well as relations with Russia and other neighbor countries of Georgia. As a response on questions about the relations with Moscow, the PM noted that Georgia, just like Ukraine, is under the threats coming from Russia. According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the occupation of two historical regions of Georgia represents a big problem for Georgia, the problem that is dealt with a constructive, yet principled approach. This includes Georgia’s consistent European and Euro-Atlantic integration policy.
