On October 27, a Facebook page “Iazrovne” published a post about an anti-Semitism study by World Jewish Congress (WJC) in Germany. Iazrovne claims that, 1) According to the study, 27% of the respondents believed that Jews were a problem prior to the World War II and that Hitler’s political decisions were right; 2) According to 41% of the respondents, the Holocaust is exaggerated and 3) Twenty percent of the respondents sees a serious control of Jews over the world politics and economy.

Iazrovne summarizes the results of the study at the end of the post with German words “Gut, mach weiter so” (Good, keep it up). Iazrovne cites an article by a German edition, Deutsche Welle, in the comments.

The first part of the information published by Iazrovne as if 27% of the respondents allegedly believe that Jews were a problem in Germany prior to the World War II and that Hitler’s actions were justified, is false. There is no such question in the study at all. According to the results of the survey, majority of German respondents does not display any signs of anti-Semitism.

On October 23, 2019, Süddeutsche Zeitung published results of the study on anti-Semitism in Germany by WJC. The full version of the study later became available on rasmussenglobal.com. WJC, which is an umbrella organization for Jewish communities and various organizations from more than 100 countries, surveyed up to 1,300 respondents.

It is noteworthy that the survey does not include a question on whether the respondents believed that Jews were a problem prior to the World War II and that Hitler’s actions were justified. Deutsche Welle, which Iazrovne indicates as a source, does not mention it in its article either.

According to the WJC study, 41% indeed believes that Jews still talk too much about Holocaust, however, another 41% does not agree with this opinion.

As for the respondents’ opinion on Jewish influence on world politics and economy, majority of the respondents thinks that the influences of the Jews and others are equal.

“Jews have too much influence on international financial markets” – 24% of the respondents agree to this statement, while 55% disagrees.

Majority of German population does not have an anti-Semitism problem, evidenced by the following figures:

“Would you support a manifestation against anti-Semitism in your city” – 58% of the respondents responded “Yes”.

Moreover, 79% of the respondents believes that “Jews are like everyone else”.
